Work hard, Faith harder

I thought about this statement this morning as I was preparing to share a quick message to my friends on Instagram.

My initial message was about doing all that one could with what they have and leaving the rest in God’s hands.

What is “all you can” mean to you?

What is “leaving the rest” mean to you?

These two questions require two opposite steps that one must make. It almost seems contradicting, but it is not.

We are being told by society that you must “Outwork” the competition. That work never sleeps and if you are not putting in the work someone else is. We are also being told that success is only attained by hard work and perseverance which is true and honestly many people need to get off their butts and start taking steps of action.

But, what society does not understand is that sometimes by pulling back, we propel forward. Society does not understand the true meaning and power of faith and what it can do for your life.

Working hard is great and the results of that work is rewarding, but we should allow enough room for God to fit in the picture. Within the work, hustle, grind, etc. there needs to be opportunities for God to show up and do what you can’t do. If not, then plain and simple you are not allowing God to be a part of your grind and I worry about the future of your endeavor.

If you are working hard, effective and with purpose there should and will almost always be spots within the journey that will require you to let go and let God. If you take this action of faith it will in turn propel you towards the continuation of the process at a much more fast and effective way – resulting in a greater impact within yourself, your business and others.

So, if you are an aspiring singer/musician with dreams of getting out into the music industry, then keep practicing. Keep working at your craft. Keep networking with different musicians, producers, etc. and plug yourself into different venues. Do all you can with what you have and God will open the opportunities when you least expect it.

Same goes for someone looking to open their own business and sell their products. Keep learning the industry. Keep learning your customer base and what they desire. Keep learning social media trends and where you can plug yourself into. Be a student of the game. Network with other business owners either in the same field or in general. Sooner or later, you will develop a product that will grab the attention of your customer base and that will bring value.

There are things at our disposal that we can do, but it is a matter of doing it. Don’t worry about what you can’t control. Let God put all that together for you.

The worst thing you can do, is do God’s work in your life. Let him do it. Trust me, life will be much better.

Sow the seed and let God grow it.
