Devotional April 7, 2017 - Make today Count

Psalms 118:24 | Proverbs 4:8

Happy Friday guys! I hope you all are doing well.

Friday’s always have a way of bringing a level of excitement to me. I am sure you know that feeling too.

How has your week been?

I hope all has been well. Yesterday I spoke a bit about looking at the bigger picture of our lives and just because one area may not be going well, does not mean that your whole life is not doing well.

We must take a step back and examine the details of our lives. God is always working in the details. God makes sure that every brick is laid in our house. He leaves nothing behind or forgets anything.

We had the honor of hosting Dr. Dave Martin last night in our service. He is an international speaker, New York times best-selling author, as well as mentors and coaches well known and respected people across the country.

He brought a great word that spoke about making today count. He brought three main points that I think will be a blessing to you as it was to me.

Part of making today count consist of:

1.       Owning your day.

·       He said, “The most important factor in determining whether or not someone is a happy person is the outlook they choose for themselves”

2.       Order your day

3.       Occupy your day

A quote that really stuck with me was his opening line that said, “The rest of your life, will be the best of your life”

If you have sometime this Sunday, we will be streaming live at rethinklife.com at 9:30 & 11:30 am. I encourage you to check it out and be blessed.

Before I leave you, let me ask you some questions.

Are you taking ownership of your day?

For me this was a smack to my face. I have allowed everything, anything and anyone to influence my days and I can’t allow that to happen. God has held me responsible for each day that I am given, so what am I going to do with it? What are you going to do with it?

Are you ordering your day?

Have you set priorities and structure in your life? What is important to you? Do you set out time daily to for that?

Order your day.

Last, but not least, are you occupying your day?

Are you filing your day with waste or are you filling up your day with things of value? Things that will build you up. Things that bring value to you, your family and everyone around you.

Think about these questions and be honest with yourself. I know that I am.

Have a blessed Friday and a great start to the weekend.
