Exodus 19 / Exodus 20 / Romans 1:1-15 / Proverbs 3
Hey guys I hope you guys are having a great weekend. Today is Super bowl Sunday and I really wish my team was playing today, but there is a reason for everything. I am excited to spend some time with some friends and family and enjoy some good food.
I can’t explain what an amazing experience it was today leading worship at church and was a monumental day as wee. Our Pastor announced the plans for our own church building and property in Lake Nona. I knew this was in the works when Pastor Rodney spoke to me in the fall last year about it. There is still a lot that needs to be done, but we are on the way. As I heard this news today in service I could not help, but think to myself how God has brought me here at this time. I thought about the many years that I grew up at my old church and always thought to myself that it would be my only church that I would now and that my kids would grow up in as well; but God has had a different plan for me and my family.
For the last 4 years, I have been with Rethink Life church after spending over 12 years at Casa Del Alfarero (Potter’s House Church) and I could not tell you how much of a blessing it has been to be here. From restoration to relationships to growth, everything has taken place for me and my family. I have grown tremendously and so has my family. My children are learning about Christ and as a parent I can’t tell you how huge that is to know that the gospel is being planted in my children’s hearts.
I can’t put to words how thankful I am to the Lord for setting my path the way that he has. I know I usually go into some of the word that I have read, but today has been a day of reflection and if there is one word that I can give you, that I read today it is, Proverbs 3: 5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
I want you to know that even if you don’t have an exact plan for your life and you don’t know where life is taking you, God does. I want you to be reassured today that your life is taken care of, just focus on one thing, trusting in the Lord and seeking his will. Trust and Seek. Trust that he has your back and is directing your steps, but at the same time seek his face and continue building a solid foundation in your walk with him.
One verse that also really stuck out to me and is exactly how I am pursing this year is Proverb 3: 27,28 “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.” I love verse 28. To me it is saying whatever you can do now, do it! Don’t wait! If you can help someone now, do it now. If you can go after something, do it. Don’t over analyze it or over think it. When you start to do that, that is when you are giving the enemy the opportunity to begin to mess with your thoughts that will eventually lead to your actions.
I have said this before, but this year I want to be a doer of my faith. I just don’t want to say that I have faith and want to live it out. I challenge you to pursue this year the same way. Stop talking the talk and walk the walk. Let’s begin to activate our faith through our works and our fruits. That is the only way that people will see Jesus in us. That is the only way that our lives will change.
What are some of the big things that you want to accomplish this year? Have you taken steps closer to those things already? If not, what is hold you back? Present your goals, but also present your struggles. God wants to hear both sides. Lay it down at his feet, trust and seek.
